Musket - 18 volts?

Sign in to disble this ad
hey y'all.

am i tripping? i thought i read somewhere that the Musket V2 could be run at 9 OR 18 volts?

if it's ok to run it at 18, what would be gained?

i'm super happy with it running on 9 volts, but i just picked up a Dunlop Brick and it does have 3 18 volt outs.

thanks!

It's a Big Muff clone so shouldn't need to run higher than 9V. But you better check before trying it out. That's a good way to kill it.

..... i LOVE this thing actually. i have a Swollen Pickle on my other board, and dayum it's nice.... but this pedal. WOOF.

i think i MIGHT be thinking of the SFT. i just went through a spate of buying so i'm not surprised if i'm getting things mixed up. don't even dig the SFT that much.

thanks!

Yeah, to my knowledge, muff clones are good at 9 volts only. Maybe a bit of a starved, like 6 volts might turn out neat, I'm not sure

mess with the settings on it. crank the gain, lower the volume to compensate, and boost the mids. it is a great overdrive pedal to get that "no overdrive, tubey effect" and then if you dig in you get that "breaking up tube amp effect"

yahp.... that was my plan, and kinda what i use a VT for on my main board, but i just don't really love the SFT for some reason. i'll play with it some more tonight but i think that since the Sansamp DI i have at the end of my chain can get close, and on a PT Mini board space is at auch a premium i might trade it in for something more distinct and wacky.

lol.... i'm working HARD to get 7 pedals crammed on there. EARN YOUR SPOT LITTLE CALINBREAD!!!

well... i do have a BUNCH of lil buggers jammed on there for a PT Mini...

.... but i did jus take back the SFT for a FX Orbital Gyroscope. neat auto filter with movement thing. seeing how i dig it on there.... might move it to main board and get a Heliotrope tho. little more versatile.

trying... to keep board... tiny.....

if you could slide the tuner over, and move some pedals down and the brick over, you could fit one, MAYBE two ZVex pedals up there :P

lol.... if i could afford to drop $150 more than they're worth on some more pedals you mean. i LOVE some of the Zvex stuff, but come on. it is EXPENSIVE. allost offensively so on some of their pedals.

i know! they kindsa have to go where some are higher than others 'cause it saves like a half inch horizontally per pedal. and they all look VERY much alike in low lights. helps to tell what the crud i'm kickin on.

ALMOST decided to chuck the tuner in a gig bag to get just..... one more..... pedal onboard.....

you people are SICK. sick i say. and you've infected me with your compulsions. (thank you)

i have a Heliotrope on the way to take over the SFT's spot. that makes me HAPPY.

it's... um.... an abreviated version of the word "Damnit". uncensored it's spelled Da'nit, and it's primarily used on the open wind-shorn bucolic plains of Ireland to puncuate sentences directed at Genital Entrepreneurs, or hookers.

..... Ireland has wind-shorn bucolic plains right?

.... how would one go ABOUT adding wide open, wind shorn, bucolic, hooker-filled plains to a region?

because.... um.... sounds like a worthy cause to me.

1. Obain a region that has a large wide-open rural area.

2. Bus in about 1000 hookers from the nearest city and situate them in the bucolic area.

3. Surround the bucolic area with a suffieicnt number of large jet engines to produce wind shear.

Its as easy as pie.
