Etc.... | I stand by my earlier answer, but I'd think that finding a good amp emulator or overdrive with some chorus would be your most immediate needs. Also get a fretless. And some delay. And an envelope filter. You could probably use a fuzz. Or two.
Maybe try a multi. B3 is popular now. |

| | | | for the bands you mentioned, all you need is a drive(like an overdriven svt amp, or a vt bass pedal for the economic bass player) a fuzz pedal(like a big muff or swollen pickle) and a filter for some chili peppers stuff(like the mxr bass filter)
and you're good to go!

| | When I come around, homeboy, watch yo nuggets | | Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: San Diego, CA | | | Most of the bassists you listed have some degree of a "driven" tube amp sound, that'd be a good place to start if you don't already have it dialed in. After that most ran fairly dry sounds. Nirvana might require a Rat or clone, Pearl Jam might need an octave pedal if you do the intro to Jeremy, and Flea will almost certainly require a filter at a minimum -- possibly more depending on what period material you cover. |
