I was under the impression, from reading the manual, that the mids switch operated (if depressed, of course) wether the octave switch was on or not. I can clearly hear better mids when the octave is on, but not so much (or not at all) when the octave is off.

Do you get the same with your own unit ?

I don't know why you'd think that. I don't own the pedal, but I'm pretty sure thats a bypass switch, not just a switch for turning the octave on or off

Hey Mike,

No, the mids do no operate if the Octave is off. The unit is true bypass so no signal goes through the Octave circuit when the octave switch is not on. Think of the BOD in this state as just two jacks with a wire connecting them.

Also, I believe the mids only affects the octave.

Hope this helps

Hey BC,

Thanks for the reply, got thrown off 'cause the mids light comes on whether the unit is on or not.

Thanks for the help, dude !

The Mid+ switch affects the Dry channel in the blended signal. It has no effect on the octave tone, and it doesn't do anything when the pedal is in bypass. It's more useful than it sounds: it makes the blended tone much more cutting and counteracts the loss of definition you get when you're blending this big octave sound into your signal.
