My question is does anyone have an idea how long one battery will power this box? I assume most of you wouldn't use battery, and i wont most of the time, but i cant seem to find this info anywhere.
Thanks for any info. Cant wait for tomorrows gig. | As soon as you plug a cord into the "input" of any(?) pedal, the battery starts to drain.
There's differing opinions on whether, or not, to leave batteries "in" a pedal, if you're using a power supply. Battery leakage is the main fear - you don't need a battery in the pedal if you're using a One-Spot, et cetera . . .
I have an MXR M-87 (plus other pedals & a One-Spot) - love it/them. Remember - carry an ext. cord/surge gadget. Don't trust venues to have easy access to power . . . |

Thanks for any info. Cant wait for tomorrows gig. | Take the mAh of the battery and divide it by the average current needed for the pedal.
Example:
Duracell alkaline 9V = 560mAh
MXR M-87 with LEDs on = 19mA
560/19 = approx 29.5 hours

In the past ive always unpluug any pedals when not using them, as im well aware of the drain once a lead is plugged it.
This is the reason for getting a PSU. I'd rather not have to do this at gigs.
i was thinking that its easy to work out how long i should get but i know sometimes whats on paper doesn't always translate to real world experiences.
I do plan on using ti at home though, although not a lot, and that will probably be on battery as i will leave the PSU with my amp at my drummers house between gigs.

| | | | Sp does anyone have any insight on mxr build quality at all? Bought one of these guys a month and a half ago and the thing died on me. No response when it is engaged. Loved it when it worked, but now I'm a little upset at myself for not mailing in the warranty card within 14 days... |

I'm surprised, though. These seem pretty tank-like. Same as the envelope filter I had. It seemed indestructible, too.

| | I promised myself I would stop buying pedals | | Join Date: Feb 2000 Location: Perth, Australia | | | I got one second hand in Australia from a guy here who would have bought it from the US. I had the warranty card but it had never been filled out.
It failed on me and MXR fixed and sent it back for free. Only it wasn't fully fixed so they said send it in again and we'll take care of it. Still waiting to get it back.
(I ended up $50 out of pocket on the postage but I happened to buy another pedal from the same guy and when he heard about the situation, he knocked $50 off the price!)
Despite it failing and MXR not properly fixing it, I'm still impressed by their build quality and customer service.
But bear in mind that there have been stories of bad batches of pedals hitting the market. |

Last night I noticed that when I touch the on/off button with my fingers (as opposed to foot) I get a loud buzzing through my system, unless I'm touching another piece of metal. This is both with and without anything on the other end of the input jack, but only when the effect is engaged. Running off battery and I've tried various leads and two different systems.
Anyone else get this? I'm sure it wasn't like this when I got it.
