Question MXR Bass DI+ Question

I've got this:::

...and what I need to know is what the PARALLEL OUTPUT is all about.

Obviously it's another place to extract a signal, but why?

There's not a lot of info on this particular pedal unit, unless the SEARCH couldn't find it for me. If there's a good write-up on it, would someone let me know?

The thing's pretty awesome - at least to me - as it can pump the signal via either a manually adjustable EQ or just drop into a preset EQ condition.

It has a switchable distortion section that can be everything from almost there to wild & chopped all to pieces.

One thing I like is that if you get lost with the pedal during a jam, you can just hit the built-in EQ settings and at least get back to a playable condition instantly and you won't go all FLAT-EQ.

The parallel out is pre-EQ, from what I understand.

TY - I was wondering what it might be and hoped it was not an extremely hot signal that could cause any problems further down the line to my amp.

Again, thanks and now I feel much better and will actually plug something into it and see for myself.

It seems to me that the manufacturer would have that info instead of techno-buzzword terms in le Book de-Clue for an idiot to read.

Could you run a tuner off the parallel output?

That's exactly what I do - and that way the tuner isn't in the sound train.
