So I ordered myself one of these, clips when I get it. Do yourself a favor and check out that video. That buffer could be just the thing for all of you who seek to play active basses with any kind of Fuzz Face clone. It's a buffer that actually enhances the Fuzz Face sound! It also can make the Fuzz play along well with any non buffered wah pedal, perhaps it could be awesome with a 105Q. I could see that being a downright nasty combo! Especially for anyone who might be a Tim Commerford fan, i've long suspected a buffer is how he gets his wah to play along so well with his fuzz, which I also suspect to be Fuzz Face based. And on top of that the buffer allows you to clean up the fuzz with the fuzz knob without sounding like poop. While you can get a myriad of tones by rolling down your guitar's volume knob with a Fuzz Face, I can definitely see being able to use the fuzz knob being handy to get those more overdriven/distorted Fuzz Face tones, which is something I'm looking for that I had a hard time getting with my silicon BC108 Analogman Sun Face.
My only concern with this pedal is that if it's like the old red Dunlop Fuzz Face, the input and output capacitor values will cut a good deal of bottom... if that be the case I'll probably be looking to mod this pedal with some bigger input/output caps. The Fuzz Face is a very simple circuit and I think that bigger input/output caps might sort any low end issues right out. If you've seen any of my posts about the Analogman Sun Face, you'll know I find the amount of bottom with that Fuzz Face clone to be satisfactory for my needs.
Anyways, I just thought I'd throw some info out there about what I think could be an exciting pedal. Again I do anticipate that I'll do soundclips as soon as the pedal arrives in my hands, so look out for those!
