MXR Filter volume swells and quack?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, I love my EH Qtron + but the volume swells are really driving me crazy.

Does the MXR filter also have volume swells? Also, I can get some good percussive quacks from my Qtron...is this possible with the MXR? I've listened to Ed Friedland do a review of the MXR and was impressed, but did not hear any quacks.

Thanks!

These 2 pedals sound nothing alike at all to my ears. What you hear Ed doing...is what that pedal sounds like. It will not cop a Qtron.

Volume swells? Not sure what you mean by that, but my Qtron+ boosted in volume when I turned it on. Is that what you mean? With the MXR, you have clean and effect volume so no boots in volume unless you want it.

Hi, thanks for the response.

I realize the two pedals are really different, no doubt.

What I mean by volume swells is that with my QTron +, if I hang on to the note, the overall volume goes way up. I know from reading the boards that this is rather common with this pedal.

However, from listening to Ed, I haven't heard that from the MXR. I was wondering if users have had to deal with increase volume swells from this pedal when hanging on to the note.

Thanks!

Can't say I experienced this with the MXR.

Neither have I, the only volume boost I got was that low end OMPH you get when holding a note long enough. This was also the reason why I got rid of it.
