MXR GT-OD

So I recently purchased this pedal for use on bass. I notice a complete lack of any type of review for this pedal for bass, probably because it is typically a guitar pedal.

Anyway tone is subjective but after playing this pedal in the store once I was sold. It was exactly what I am looking for filling the need of light growly boost to almost fuzz like rip with just a few knob tweaks. Very happy with it. I use it in conjunction with the MXR envelope filter pedal (number escapes me, the dark purple glittery one), going through a Markbass SD800 head, effects before the input, not in the loop.

I am coming from having used multi fx pedals for years and just got tired of them and wanted to go the stompbox route. Couldn't be more pleased with this early addition.

Ken

I'm mainly an electric guitarist, and one day I started jamming with my brother who used to play bass. We wanted his sound to have more balls so I let him use my GT-OD through his ****** practice amp, while I used the overdrive on my ****** practice amp. It sounded amazing even considering the lacklustre gear being used.

When I soon get my bass gear for recording, I'll be using the GT-OD to a greater or lesser extent. It's a great sound!
