I did a search but couldn't find anything on how this thing sounds in a band situation. Has anyone road tested this pedal? What do you reckon to it? I tried one in the the shop and it sounded great but I like to know your experience with this thing in action.
Thoughts?
Opinions?
Thanks. |

Seriously. |

Seriously. | Hmm? I thought that might be the case. It sounded good when I had a short play with it in the shop but I did think it could sound messy in a band mix. I doesn't seem to be getting many good reviews this pedal. I have the Blowtorch which I like for what it does but I don't always want that lumber yard fuzz sound. Might have to check the Bass Muff instead. |

The internal bass freq toggle needs to be checked before you judge the pedal. All of that aside, I think it's a little to "El Blah" for me personally. |

I had expected that might happen after reading grygrx's review on his web site.
Opened the box, adjusted the trim pot and the tone became much better. I use the fuzz with a Markbass combo (which tends to be on the "crisp" side) and it seems to be a good compliment.
I used it at practice the other day and it set in the mix fine. You have to fiddle with the volume adjustment on the pedal, it is very touchy.
I started with the MXR (my first fuzz) because it seemed like a decent fuzz and I got a great deal on one in the TB classifieds.
I am interested in comparing it to an Electronix Messdrive +. Have to wait for awhile though.

I played around with both and I gotta say, the Hybrid blew this thing out of the water. |

I was going to change it out for a Bass Big Muff, but i'm loving the little big muff's tone.
