MXR M-80 good or not ?

Hi , thinking of replacing my Aphex Bass Xciter due to damage , Tech 21`s a a little pricey , any experience with the MXR M-80 , iv seen one cheap , is that comparable to the Aphex? , I want a clean boost , not interested in the distortion side of things .

The M80 is a solid pedal. I personally find it to be pretty transparent until you start messing with the color switch and distortion. I've never tried the Aphex, so I don't know how they stack up.

The mxr m-80 is definitely a good choice for a clean boost pedal. it makes your bass rig sound more advanced. the distortion effect on the mxr-80 in my opinion sounded pretty cool. not everyone likes the distortion channel on the mxr m-80, but If I have one, I definitely would use it for both it's clean channel and it's distortion channel. also I would add a chorus pedal along with the mxr m-80.
