Hey everyone, I'm thinking of getting an MXR M181 Blowtorch Distortion pedal, and am just wondering about powering the thing. I've read it is uses 18v. My current setup I run just 1 power supply with a daisy chain to all my pedals, which is running at 9v.
Would I have to get an 18v power supply, or can I run it on 9v. And if so, will that effect the way it works?

Get the shop to throw a supply in for free to close the deal. Or run it on 2x batteries. Or buy a power supply with an 18V output, or isolated 9V outputs to chain together.
Will it run on 9V? Probably, but EVERYTHING will be affected. lower headroom, less EQ cut/boost, lower output volume, lower LED brightness... Quote:

- Dunlop DC Brick
- Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ (need the appropriate Y-cable for this option)
- BBE Supacharger (again, the Y-cable)
- T-Rex Fuel Tank (again, the Y-cable)
- T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior (again, the Y-cable)
All of the above are replacements to your current power supply.
But if you want to keep using it, try these - they snap onto your daisy chain and will provide the necessary voltage doubling for the pedal that uses it (in this case, a Blowtorch): - Diago 18V Adapter
- Godlyke Power Pump (on the 18VDC setting)
