Me too. One of these days I need to find a decent home recording setup.

Im looking a getting a Zoom H2... It annoys me having to set my laptop and mixer up all the time in my music room.

The H2 looks like a cool little unit. Nice price too

A hundred bucks? I was looking at the MBox but I think I might look at the H2 first. I don't need much....

$200 I think. But they are portable and compact etc... They have 4 mics for 360 recording etc.. Mbox is sweet, but again, your stuck at your PC again.. Thats what I want to move away from.

Err....Uhm...Yeah. Too tired. Worked all night and obviously didn't want to see that "1" in front of the $99.99.

I heard this the other day. Anybody else think they were really referencing Tool with the guitar part during the breakdown?

Nope, this one is based off of a more vintage circut.

Damn. I guess the Blowtorch is only $40 more. I returned mine and want it back now, even if I have a Bluebeard coming.

If it's any consolation, I'm going to have both the Blowtorch and the El Grande, at least for awhile. I love the Blowtorch though, and so far really like what I'm hearing with the El Grande. Chances are I'll keep both.

The clip's breakdown does sound very Tool-esque, doesn't it?

I don't think it really sounds Tool-like, at all. Oh well...

My Hematoma can make that sound, now that I think of it...

Not the El Grande itself, but the guitar tone and what it plays toward the end of the clip.

As for the El Grande itself, I like its tone a good deal more than the Blowtorch (at least from the clips I've heard) and it looks like a great deal for $99. I might check one out but I'm pretty satisfied with getting my aggressive dirt from an XXLB into a Sansamp, but the El Grande is impressing me, though I want to hear some clips from TBers rather than just manufacturer samples.

As a side note, isn't Dunlop/MXR making "reissiues" of the Way Huge line, including the Swollen Pickle? Based on everything I've read, the El Grande also seems like a modded 70's Big Muff circuit so I wonder how closely the two will sound.

I wanna A/B it with the EHX Blogger, but that thing comes out in July, as I understand.

Man, why can't things be out now! I just want a good fuzz pedal!

Edit: Well, the El Grande IS out now, but my local stores don't have them yet.

Sounds good. Any idea what "Classic 70's fuzz circuit" they're talking about? My fuzz knowledge is a bit fuzzy.

I'm guessing that it would be the EHX Big Muff (can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not...)
