Great DI with EQ for the money -- and built like a tank. I'm not crazy about the distortion, but everything else is nice.

I'll second that. I love it as a DI and EQ but I don't use the distortion much other than to play around with.

as a straight up distortion pedal, I've heard better but mixing in the gain level with the clean sound can yield you very nice warm tube drivin tones. The EQ is real powerful as well. I never plugged it straight into a PA but I have used it to save a crappy amp!!!

Totally different. The Sansamp stuff is designed to emulate Ampeg amps. The M80 is a transparent active DI with EQ and distortion (it would really make more sense without the distortion, IMO, but people love knobs).

+1. Plus I often plug straight into the PA and always sounds good.
