| | | | MXR Compressor A friend of mine told me that you can do just as well with a MXR Dynacomp Guitar Compressor (cheaper) than the MXR bass specific compressor (about $150). What do you think? Bass specific pedal or doesn't matter? |

On the other hand, the only knobs it has are input and output. No attack or release or ratio. In other words, you control nothing about what the compressor does except how loud you have to play for it to kick in. How much it compresses, how quickly it starts working, how quickly it dissipates--all of that seems baked in.
I suppose there's a chance that it has the exact values that you personally would want. But that...doesn't seem likely.

Is OP/anyone still dishing out numbers or does one merely 'declare' their own number? If the latter option then I declare myself #69!

Noo. No way. World of a difference. I wish I knew that before I blew $75 on the Dynacomp instead of plunking down another $100 and getting one of the best pedal compressors out there.
I STILL can't get rid of my DynaComp, I've been trying to sell it for 2 months now

With total honesty though, I can say none of the pedals are there just because they are MXR ... I tested each one against many other pedals, and each time, it was the MXR pedal that won out (the POG has to remain though ... nothing else sounds close to it).

bod, bef, carbon copy, m80, bass comp, blowtorch, evh p90, p45, black label chorus, bfd, classic od, classic distortion, distortion 3, distortion plus, gt od, micro amp, zw44.
thats 17 that i can remember!
I might add the new chorus and\ or the od, but i tried the initial models to make it over here at the weekend, all be it in a noisy environment, but i wasnt totally convinced. I'll try them again when my dealer gets stock
