seen as there isn't many bass demos of this pedal I thought I'd do a demo and a review (in description) of the MXR Phase 90. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJpNc8b8JA0
Apologies for bad bass playing

| | | Love the Phase 90 with bass. I ended up going with the EVH 90 because the Script mode sounds less "phasey" and works better with some things I like to do. If you want to get adventurous, the C11/C12 R28 mod makes it even more liquid: Erik's Corner*-*MXR Phase 90 Mods
Easy to do, but you can't easily back out of the change which removes two capacitors and one resistors. Making the mod can be done with a Leatherman, undoing it takes a soldering iron. |

That's what I had for a long time until I ended up "giving" it away somehow, but that's a long story. I did the C11/C12/R28 mod and liked it. For it's replacement I ended up with the EVH just because of the switch and the ability to be less phasey at times. The Phase 90 is one of my favorite pedals. |

| | | | I found the EVH was a little too thin and subtle but also found the standard block version to have just a tad too much boost when engaged at higher volume. I now own a 74 Script re-issue with the Analogman true bypass and added light mods and although its pretty fantastic, its doesn't put the big smile on my face that the standard block logo version does. For the price, the basic Phase90 is a great pedal for bass. Its not true bypass but has a very good bypass and there is no thinning or loss of low end when engaged.

Nice vid by the way |

| | | | I just bought a Phase 90. I went down to the guitar shop and after not seeing any "bass specific" phasers, I played 3 of the ones they had. The Ibanez wasn't really audible on the bass. The Boss sounded okay at first but I could tell I wouldn't be happy with it in the long run. I played both the EVH and the traditional Phase 90 and in the bass range, I couldn't tell much of a difference between the mods, but it could've been the room, setup, frequency range, etc.
So I eventually landed on the Phase 90, I think it did the best job, keeping the most tone, and after a discount was only 65 bucks, so win/win! |

love my phase 90 really cuts through anything on bass

| | I promised myself I would stop buying pedals | | Join Date: Feb 2000 Location: Perth, Australia | | | I really got hooked on this video and other phaser demos, and I nearly dropped the cash for an EVH but then I decided to explore my MagicStomp. I haven't played with any other phasers so I can't compare, but it has some awesome phaser tones and about 10 parameters.
It's my new favourite effect for bass! So nice and chewy.

Though one thing I could not get past was the effect it had on my bass tone when it was in the signal chain. It completely killed my definition.
