I'd go for the Phase 90.

It says the Phase 90 adds a bit of overdrive
and the EHX has a sound loss problem

Can anyone confirm or deny those?

I didn't notice any volume drop when I had a Nano Small Stone. The volume/depth of the low end fluctuates with it, but that's a function of any phaser that doesn't have a blend.

smurf just bough what would be MY recommendation in the classifieds for CHEAP - a Maxon PT-999. It's an awesome phase 90 clone with less noise, better bypass, and a frequency center trimpot on the inside (though you may need a jeweler's screwdriver to turn it) that makes it THE BEST one knob phaser for bass, hands down.

I'll go for the Small Stone most likely, BUT, I'm still willing to hear clips or more opinions please.
Thank you.

I had a phase 90 long ago. I mostly played it with guitar. It did have a pleasing sort of boost to it. I don't know if I'd call it overdrive. I liked it at the slowest setting but it would only cycle once like that on a sustained note and then the noise would take over. As I recall, it felt a little ungainly on bass whereas the (borrowed) Small Stone was a little more versatile thanks to the color switch. I liked the stone better for bass. I've played the nano a bit and it's exactly what I think of when I want a phaser.

You think too much. Pedalboard is a constant change. Nobody can't tell you what would suit you best, only your own experience can. Buy one, try it and decided whether you like it or not. If not, sell it and buy another one.

Here you go, EHX Nano Small Stone clip!

Settings: Color switch up, Rate knob at about 2:00. Towards the end, I maxed out the rate knob so you could hear how fast it goes. As with any phaser (that I've played anyway ), you can hear it swirling even when you're not playing a note. I let it go a little bit at the end so you could hear it.

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: At the end you also hear a little of the 60hz hum from my MIM Fender Jazz's stock pickups (in between swirls from the phaser). The Nano Stone is not generating that sound. I probably should've recorded with a different bass, but it's Saturday morning, I'm lazy at the moment and that was the first bass I grabbed. lol

I have the Phase 90. It nails the Stranglehold and Have A Cigar bass tones, but also sounds cool with slap/pop techiques. It does not create any overdrive.

Wow! Thank you very much for the clip! I'm really really thankful.
I don't like the phaser overridin' the sound.

I believe i'll go for the 90, Though, If anyone willing to record quickly, Even in lame quality the phase 90 it will be great.
