mxr stereo chorus vs markbass chorus/flanger vs carl martin bass chorus

Sign in to disble this ad
tried reading and searched online but i have not found a direct comparison between these pedals.

I am tempted to go with the mxr stereo chorus but the other ones seem to be very good although very pricey.

If money isn´t a problem, which one would you choose? Please state why. I have limited myself to those 3 models so try to focus on these only.

Regards

i've also been researching for chorus pedal last 2 weeks.

MXR stereo chorus = looks and also sounds cool, but the 18v power is holding me from it :/

Carl Martin and Markbass = i havn't tried, the local store are out of stock

EBS unichorus = sounded alright but i wanted to tweak it a little more, few controls.

BOSS CEB-3 = i'm on my to try that one (maybe the digitech bass chorus while i'm there)

T-rex the Sweeper = this pedal is in my 1st place atm

I would be glad to hear your view of some others or these

the mxr chorus 18v is not a problem for me as i have a voodoo iso 5 that can feed this pedal.. the others i listed will have to be powered from their own plug but this is not a problem for me.

i haven't tried anyone of these, no one has them in stock, i have to buy them online. i narrowed the list to those based on what i saw, read and heard online.

sorry i can't help you that much, i am in need of help too and it seems you are already a few steps ahead of me

side note: can the power cord that comes with the markbass stuff plug more than one markbass pedal at the same time? i think i read that somewhere but can't remember where.

I owned the MXR Stereo Choris for awhile and quite liked it as the eq controls were very bass friendly. The lack of True Bypass and the 18v requirement is a bit of a pain but its a great sounding pedal. My search for the best bass chorus ended with my Diamond Halo. It needed a special cable to power with my Pedal Power and is even bigger then the MXR but it sounds stunning on bass and the internal trip pots allowed me to tweak it to perfection. The built in phaser is subtle but an added bonus and can be blended in with the chorus if desired.

the MXR Chorus is the fattest sounding chorus I've ever heard. I wanted to replace it with the Line6 M9 but evrything sounded weak against it. I'm using it for synthy stuff to 'detune' octave/fuzz sounds...

thanks for the reply. I still do not knoe which one to buy from all of these but i am more inclined to the mxr stereo chorus. I already have 3 mxr pedals and i only have good stuff to say about all of them.

Anyway, if anyone wants to tell me more about the markbass and carl martin feel free to join the topic.

I own the Carl Martin Bass Chorus

I think it sounds great, subtle and yet lush. My guitarist likes it as well, however the downside is it has an integrated AC power supply, so if you want to use your pp2+ youll need to use the courtesy AC outlet and some cable ties

Otherwise the guitarist uses the analogman bichorus with deep switch, which I 'borrow' from time to time. A great option that runs on 9V DC.

The Carl Martin Bass Chorus is at Amazon right now for 138.91. It's $322 at other places (Musician's Friend and Zzounds). No experience with the chorus, but I have the Carl Martin parametric EQ and it is a quality made, and nice sounding unit.

hey, at that price i might buy it instead of the stereo chorus/markbass..

even paying taxes due to import, it will be worth it!

are the 2 knobs enough to tweak it? the mxr and the markbass seem to allow more control but i heard good things about the carl martin..
