My 3 headed child of tone manipulation

Sign in to disble this ad
biggest change is here:

These two are pretty much the same:

Signal Chain:
Neck Pickup<Boss OC-3<Ampeg Sub-Blaster<amp
Bridge Pickup<Moog Freqbox<EHX BMS<EHX HOG<EHX English Muff'n<Moog MuRF<Moog Phaser<Moog Ringmod<Moog Filter<Moog Delay with Feedback and delay time controlled by MP201<Amp<Boss RT-20<Boss RE20<Boss DD20

still thinking about adding an Akai Unibass, Wah, MXR Flanger, MXR Blue Box in loop with clean boost, and a looper or two.

If anyone wants to know anything specific about any of the pedals, please ask.

So far my favorite thing to do is get a crazy patch going with the HOG and a few other pedals and then stick an octave down in there to make for a massive sound.

someone please help me with the pics. Im feeling totally noobish right now.

What kind of bass are you using? That's a pretty sick setup

That setup is absurd, much too large and very awesome.

The moogs are obviously orgasm-inducing. But the first board is pretty cool too; especially a DD-20, an RE-20 and an RT-20. Basically my 3 favorite Boss pedals (other than a DC-2). Sweet setup.

Keep the MI Audio Pollyanna Octave in mind: its basically a blue box with -2,-1,+1, dry, and a tone knob; way more versatile, sounds great, small package.

I own these three and just play with them for hours on end. I haven't seriously GASsed for a while because of these. The HOG is a ridiculous piece of equipment. Fortunately for me Moog GAS is a lot like Corvette GAS. It'd be nice, but I just can't justify making it happen.

Right now its only setup for a stereo bass. I am currently running a Black Rickenbacker 4003 for the most part. I also have a Blue 4003, but thats more there as a backup than anything else. When I finish playing with my current band and can finally reclaim my territory I will wire it so that I can also use mono basses.

Yeah, it is a little bit OTT. I can at least sleep well knowing that with this rig I can fairly easily pack things up and go to a gig. My other band is in a state of screwed upedness and we have a gig to do, for which I have determined that I have to use at least the BMS. We do Hiroshima by Ben Folds, which has a synth solo, which I either have to play on a synth, or use a pedal for. naturally I chose the pedal. I am hoping that I can convince them to do Hang You From The Heavens or another song with a cool bass tone.
