My Boss ODB-3 went WT* Last Night...

Sign in to disble this ad

Turned it on, and when I'm not playing notes, it started having this high-pitched squealing noise that was loud. When I mute the strings it was fine or when I'm playing it goes away, but just simply taking my hands off the strings and having the pedal on it goes bonkers and makes that noise. Never had that happen before last night.
And ya I know it's an ODB-3, but I have like one song where it just "fits" perfectly.

I've had this a couple of times with mine...it seems to depend on the room you're in, and how close the pedal is to the amp. Weird, huh?

I found that my noise floor cut by about 75%, just from moving my pedals 6' away from my amp...

Hope that helps!

That makes sense actually. We just moved into a new reh room and it's more of a square box than the rectangle-shaped room we'd previously been in, so my pedalboard is a lot closer to my amp.
I'll try moving it further away next rehearsal. Thx for the idea! I brought it home last night so can test this weekend to make sure it isn't something else.
