My continued pedalboard evolution ... AGROfied.

This one had mad tone suck:

So I got a barge looper, and I became quite happy:

But I started to realize any guitar distortion I tried only sounded really good through my "rock" rigs, and that they probably did not sound good through my DI since they all have high frequency components that the designer expects a 12" guitar cab to filter out. I tried a few tube DIs, which helped a lot, but then I found the centerpiece of my new board. The Aguilar AGRO:

The AGRO does wonderful things to your distorted tone, and has appropriate shelving built in to eliminate any nastyness coming out of a hi-fi tweeter equipped rig. It sounds amazing, and the bigger benefit is that it also cleans up the signal of anything you run in front of it. So I can get a nasty double-driven sound with the DS-1 in front, and still not squizz coming out of the tweeter.

Sounds great either with no blend or with just a touch of clean blended in at the barge, depending on what I'm going for.

Hmmm... interesting. I had written off the Agro thinking it was necessarily a full rack space, but I see there how shallow it is front-to-back, which is more workable as you show. Hmmm...

Neat! I have been drooling over that Agro for a while now. Clips, please?

Whups ... because I wasn't paying enough attention when I wired it up.

Too excited about the sounds I guess.

It was either this or mount it on a rack shelf next to a DB900. I like this. The tuner has to sit somewhere anyway so I just put some velcro on top.

...and zombie'd

what size pedaltrain is that? I'm thinking about trying to find creative ways to board-mount my Agro, I'd like to move it from the end of my signal chain with out running wires to and from my rack.

That's a pedaltrain pro. I'd probably consider selling it to you if you're interested. I've been using all this stuff a lot less since I got me Mesa Titan ... but there are some great sounds on those boards.
