My Custom Pedal Train Pro *BUILD THREAD* (photos ofcourse!)

Thought I'd post this up for you guys to check out and get some love/hate.

I have yet to take some pictures of how the board sits now fully wired up, I'll do soon and add them to the thread.

I'm 23 and this is my first board and my first dive into the wonderful and expensive as hell world of effects. I've been swimming in it for about a year now. Everything I've learned and researched to put this board together has all been entirely gathered from the forums here. Thanks so much!


This started out a standard PT Pro softcase from Ebay. I found a hardcase for it later on Ebay and bought it as well. I'm an automotive fabricator/tinkerer by trade and have a hard time leaving stuff stock or unmodified. Being that the PT uses an aluminum frame, I came up with some ideas on how to slightly improve the frame.

I took it down to my local powdercoat guy and we media blasted the factory finish off, and powercoated the whole board and PS mounts Tucker Orange with a Gold Flake clear coat over top. I know the gold flake sounds hood rich, but i knew it would just add a bit more pop to the orange and look great under stage lights. It came out killer and the flake only comes out in direct light.

The PT boards come with their rubber feeties all riveted on as well as the logo plate on the front. PT also normally supplies self tapper screws for the PS mounting brackets. I decided to drill and thread tap all the holes for the feet, name plate, and PS brackets. I then used all SS hardware and washers. I went with chrome plated torx fasteners for the name plate. I also ordered a whole bunch of stick on zip tie holds for the underside and stuck them on in a usable pattern to secure power and signal cables underneath. AANNDDD ofcourse... Orange Zip Ties!!

Originally I was only going to run one PS and bought a BBE SupaCharger, but soon after realized that a second would be needed and I splurged on a Voodoo PP2+.

I've used all Lava solderless cables for wiring and they've worked pretty darn good for me. Like I said above, I'll post photos of it fully wired and post a signal past list soon.

Really, really impressive stuff. I'm jealous of your craftiness. Especially dig the orange cabs matching the pedalboard.

Reminds me a little of the stage setup for Stardeath and White Dwarfs. They also have a similar color consistency throughout the band for their rigs and props.

That is some dive, sir, and I approve! That looks fantastic! I thought I jumped in deep with a PT-JR and 7 pedals but this is a whole 'nother degree and it worked out so well. Congrats, man!

That's seriously impressive! The powdercoat came out great and drilling/tapping the holes was such a great idea. With self-tapping screws, you can really only use them one time and then the hole is stipped. Really appreciate the detailed pics too!

No sir, PT actually sells the bracket kits individually. They're like $12 if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I saw PT started offering that a few months after I completed mine.

I'd be happy to rebuild anyone's Pedal Train just like mine, with the new hardware and powder coat in any color you want.

If anyone would be interested in this, PM and I'll work up a price.
