Audio Looper
For the multiple distortion looper I'd want something where I could hit a button and one distortion would enter the chain, but then I could hit another, adding that distortion and removing the 1st. The only distortions I KNOW id want in there are the Attack Goat and a Muff'n. I'd prolly order the looper with at least 8 loops. The exp. controls on the trem would be for speed and volume ramp (from square occilation to more of a sine wave type thing). For the delay I wouldn't mind an exp control for the delay time, and maybe repeats. For the flange I'd want nearly EVERYTHING on it to be controlable via exp pedal.
Anyways, this is my dream in progress, inspired by Rustynuts and TaySte....

Do you have any certain trems, flangers, phasers, etc. in mind yet?

I started with one idea, designed and started building a board for that idea but then wound up making two additions to the dang thing and have now started on board number two....
I'd do it a lot differently if I was starting from scratch now.

Do you have a plan or a project you plan on using it with?
Is any of this a solution to problems you've had in the past?
But after that on to the pedals, you might want to get the moog ring mod as it will do a very very good trem and you'd be able to control various things with exp pedals.
There is a specific whammy controller I've seen it's a tb loop with midi features as well I can't remember who makes it though but there has a been a thread on it if you can find it.
I've not used the RV-5 but I had an RV-2 and the gate setting was a bit rubbish I couldn't get it to trigger when I was using dirt, I've seen Doug Wimbish use the Digitech Digiverb though with loads of pedals on in front of it and trigger it everytime.
The looper sounds like you need a gigrig 8.
I'm not sure of the need for beinjg able to control various features on the modulation pedals but I'd suggest if this is a must that you should get a rackmount unit, else you are going to end up with about 20 exp pedals.
Hope this helps

Is any of this a solution to problems you've had in the past? | Not a solution, or related to a project other than my own sick fun. It's more an extention of my Attack Goat->Hematoma board, which is/will be my more "band friendly" board, than anything else. The wah setup and having the english muff'n in there is more for nostalgia at this point lol. My old boards were OK, but I'm infinatly more experienced this time round Quote: |

| Ill check it out! Quote: |

| I used to own an RV-5, and it never didn't trigger. It made my distortions sound all metalicy and industrial..... Quote: |

| The looper is something I would get as an off board addition, after the rest was assembled.... Quote: |

Unfortunatly this is all just a dream, and am planning on getting a big/huge amp first, to run all this thru! |

I thought I was misreading things last night because I was struck by how many expression pedals you would need and the (presumably) custom made effects to segregate the features of the modulation pedals. A custom rack unit might be the perfect answer for you, like Tayste suggested.
Last night wasn't a good time for me to even be reading this forum....When I woke up and got ready for work I realized I'd forgotten to shave while I was in the shower, then when I got out to shave I found I'd forgotten to bring any clothes or a towel in with me, and then I drove off and left my cell phone at home.
And it went downhill from there~!

Is midi controlling the Whammy IV worth it? I mean, it fits with the MO of your board, but...
Otherwise I suggest that you give the phaser/flanger a try in between some of the dirt pedals -- you might get some really interesting sounds. |

The reason I want a slow gear AND volume: I can have the slow gear going while fading out with the volume
I've decided on 3 of the possible 8 distortions I want in the selector loops:
1)Wounded Paw Attack Goat (love it!)
2)EHX English Muff'n (loved it!)
3)Z.Vex Wooly Mammoth (cus it's CRAZY!!!). I might go for a fuzz factory on this one tho. Depends on how simmilar they are. Or I might go with both! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
