My First Pedal - Boss RC20 XL

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm not a fan of effects on bass normally, just alittle EQ and compression, so in 8 years of playing bass (I'm 19) I have never purchased any sort of pedal. now I'm experimenting with what i can do as just a bass player out of a band context so i just bought myself a loop sampler pedal. and even though I've only had it about 20mins I love it!!! it is so easy to use, sounds great and very very fun. I highly recommend these if anyone fancies playing over themselfs. I also play guitar (not as much or as well as I play bass, but this pedal works really well for this as well)

just posting my excitement and pleasure with such pedal and wondered who else owns one? (or the RC2 or RC50)

I own an RC-20xl. Good choice They (and any looper) really add another angle to your playing. Good times when playing alone too!

Enjoy

If you go to the TalkBass on YouTube thread, I've got a few videos of me goofing off with my RC-20XL. Look for the worst videos and playing in the group. Something about recording makes my mind and fingers go blank. *shrug*

The vids aren't really all that special, but I agree about how much fun they are - and when you can throw a multi-effects pedal in front of it, the sonic possibilities are pretty endless.

I have a Digitech Jamman, pretty similar to the RC20XL.

I chose it because I was able to get a good deal used and it has much more recording time, although the Boss is great as well. One thing it does have over the Digitech is that it has reverse mode.

i have the same pedal - the reverse button is awesome. great for showing the crowd whatsup after your guitar player has been hogging the light all night..

its an extremely usefull tool for writing, and even just practicing..if i remember correctly, that was the first pedal i bought..and look at me now, my pedalboard is the size of a hard guitar case..hope you dont come down with the same GAS that i did..
