Sign in to disble this ad
Ok I know people will say things like "its up to you what you want one your pedal board" but i just want peoples opinions of my near future pedal board and any comments or reccomendations on what i should get

Heres what i have planned

- Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus (already have)
- MXR Bass Octave Deluxe (on its way)
- Digitech Whammy IV modded so I can use a footswitch to change modes
- Sansamp VT Bass
- Boss DD-20
- Ernie Ball Volume
- Way Huge Swollen Pickle
- Synth of some kind (reccommendations??)

Anything im missing?
Should have the first 4 within a month

nice plan

although for each of your proposed pedal I personally would go for a close alternative.

Synth? Depends what you want. A real simple easy to use "real" synth I'd go for a Digitech Bass Synth Wah.
For a synthy "fuzz" pedal: Prunes & Custard.

It's a nice selection of pedals - although I'd go for a CE-5 instead of the CEB-3.

Depending on what you want you're going to use the VT for, look at a seperate OD if you're using it as a preamp/DI.

Im thinking of gettin the EBS Unichorus as an upgrade to the CEB-3. The VT ill be using as a light silky distortion as used in Tool and more agressive for Black Dahlia Murder and other metal music. If i ever vet an overdrive it will probably be a Way Huge Pork Loin. Though im yet to here demos for bass.

@rene: synths im looking at atm are the digitech synth bass wah, boss synth syb-5 and electro harmonix bass microsynth. Im leaning mostly towards thr boss atm

There are probably a lot more people here in a better position than me to give advice on these pedals.

I played them all 3 in the store though. So my 2 cents FWIW.

The BOSS was my least favourite.

And the EHX and the BSW are different animals.

I would prefer the EHX for a deep fat sound (more dimensional and atmospheric), and the Digitech for more funky or lead synth playing.

That said, I have no experience owning these pedals. (GASsing for them though.)

What kind of music do you play?
Seems to me more in the direction of Tool and/or Muse. ??

Out of the synth pedals mentioned I would suggest you buy a secondhand EHX BMS XO from the TB classifieds and have it shipped to Melbourne. There's no Aust import duty payable on goods under AUD1,000 and powering it without the US transformer is not an issue.

These pedals are, IMO, the pick of the three and they are very expensive in Aust:
