Here's what I got-
Peavey T-40, GK800RB, Ampeg 4x10 classic, SWR 2x10,
Dunlop 105q Bass wah.
Here's what I'm selling-
Line6 Bass Pod Pro, Line 6 floor board, EH Bass Balls.
Here's my gas list- What should I get first?
Custom Peavey Cirrus, EBS Microbass II preamp DI,
Demeter Compulator, Malekko B:assmaster,
Moogerfooger MF-101 LP Envelope Follower,
Wilson effects bass q-wah, maybe Darkstar pups for the T-40?
I also want a "Frettedless" brand name 6 string but I'll need to score on a scratch off before that happens. |

Peavey makes quality stuff and is synonymous with the plague, Behringer "builds" ****ing ******** and people come up to me all the time recommending something from them. Weak.
...
What was the question again? Oh yeah, the B:Assmaster is the only thing on my list as well, so I'd get that one first.

I have a bad habit of keeping tempo by tapping near the pickups and I'm not a good slapper. Fingerstyle is solid though.
I think the T-40 is better than it's given credit for. Thing this is heavy duty, good wood, ultra smooth neck, excellent hardware. I don't mind the weight either because I'm 6'2" 260 with broad shoulders. After my USA Fender Jazz twisted up like a pretzel and couldn't be salvaged I searched for something more solid and that's what I came up with. My bass was lighter than my buddies 79 strat, and I was sick of it. I'll never sell my T-40 no matter what I else I get, so if Darkstars are as good as people say I think it is worth it to put them in the T-40. It is not a priority though. |

The B:assmaster is high on my list too. |

There's a lot of love for the T-40 on this forum, I've never seen any complaints that the pickups suck or anything.
I guess I'd put the B:Assmaster at the top of the list just because it is an inexpensive way to have a lot of fun with your existing gear. New pickups or a compressor will cost at least that much but be far less "fun", and GAS is well-appeased by fun. A new bass would be cool too, but you've indicated not having much dough. |

I can't really tell anything from a soundclip. I don't have real speakers on my PC. Do Lakeland's have Darkstars? Maybe I could go try one of those.

Yah I want one of those pretty bad.

Yah, but I could save for it. |

Effects are fun, but if your in the market for a bass, id be getting that out the way first.

1. Good bass (not that there's anything wrong with the T-40) with good pickups first
3.Good cables
3. Good amp and cab
4. Good cables
5. Compressor and/or EQ
6. Effects
That's just my advice but I think your effects will just about always sound better if you have a deece clean tone to start with.
Joe

Joe | That's what I was thinking. Next on my list is a preamp and compression pedal. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
