My Jazz Bass sounds like a Rickenbacker

I have a distortion pedal that I bought a long time ago. I hooked my bass up to it, and now it sounds just like a 4003/4001. It's great and weird at the same time...

well I have a Fender Starcaster distortion pedal that I picked up for around 20 bucks back when I played the guitar. This has to be the strangest Distortion pedal I have ever heard. the mid freq changes the entire tone. I have the Distortion/Gain knob all the way down, High at 10 o'clock, Bass full blast, mid full blast, and mid freq just a smidge from full. You can get many different sounds from this pedal. My Rick sound with chorus sounds like Chris Squire. I experiment with my EQ and pedals all the time...

Your Rickenbacker might sound better than my Jazz, but my Jazz sounds better than any Precision.

In stereo, my Geddy Lee Jazz Bass sounds like a Rickenprecisionjazz.

If I wear a certain guitar strap it changes my cigarette voice into a Frank Sinatra style crooning. And auto tunes me.
