Looking for a simple and clean way to attach your Dunlop wah to a pedal board without altering the pedal? I came up with an idea when I first bought my Dunlop 105Q as I didn't want to mess up the graphics on the bottom of the pedal. I thought I would share this method as it works very well and the pedal can be returned to stock with no damage whatsoever if need be. I laid it out in photos below using a new Zakk Wylde wah. I set this one up exactly as my 105Q which is sitting snugly on my bass board.
The plastic shrink wrap that comes on the bottom plate can be left on. The 4 rubber feet are what holds the bottom plate to the board so they stay on as well. What I came up with was using 4 standard plastic computer discs (floppy discs). They have to be positioned with the disc opening to the side so that they both fit between the rubber feet. I discovered that 2 discs stacked equals roughly the height of the rubber feet. So here goes, all you need is some black electrical tape, 4 discs, and some velcro.
1. Start by taping up 2 stacks of 2 with black electrical tape.
2. Unscrew the bottom plate and place the 2 disc stacks against the finished side and space them so that the rubber feet can be put back on without rubbing.
3. You will have to remove the battery door and store it somewhere else. I just put mine back in the box the wah came in so that I wont lose it.
4. Tape the two stacks to the plate and completly wrap them as pictured. Note that no tape is applied to the finished side of the bottom plate.
5. Apply velcro to the bottom and screw the plate back onto the wah.
6. Place the pedal on your board and you're done!
You will see a bit of the black edge of the discs at the bottom end of the wah but it blends right into the pedalboard and it looks quite clean. The pedal now has lots of support, sits very firmly on the board, is solid and feels good on the foot to use.
Hope this is useful to a few folks.
