| Is my MXR Carbon Copy defective?

I bought a Carbon Copy today. When it produces delayed notes, it also produces some kind of "white noise". In other words, delayed notes contain white noise.
I've used only digital delays before. So, I wonder if it's the characteristic of an analog delay or if my unit is defective.
