My "new" Roland V-Bass, older model

Last night was the maiden voyage for my "new to me" Roland v-bass I just scored here on TB, tons of fun! This is the older model, not the VB-99. Started off with a jazz bass setting, which I used for most of the night. Classic jazz tone with just a touch of grit, sounded great through my 400+.

We do a few medleys which is where I thought it really shined. Going from a classic jazz tone, to a really convincing Hofner, to an overdriven Rick, to a fretless, and then back to the jazz was entirely too much fun! Even the guitarists took notice and were raving over it.

I'll probably spend this week playing and tweaking with the fx section and set up a few more bass/amp models as well. Thinking this may be one of the more useful "toys" I've purchased in quite a while. Anyone else out there using one of these on thier regular gig?

Hey v. I've been gigging with my V-Bass for about 6 years now and it still amazes me on a regular basis! The bass models sound great and it's a blast to switch "basses" to suit the song. The octave down is silky and tracks flawlessly. The distortion coupled with an amp & cab of your choice rips! The synth section is very flexible & you can do so much more with a 'hexaphonic' setup.
