My new true bypass pedalboard from BradyCases.com

Sign in to disble this ad
I've used pedal train pedalboards for years, but I use so many pedals that I've always wanted to go to a true bypass board. I called Brady up at bradycases.com and had him build me a custom board.

It currently holds 18 pedals, took 60 feet of lava solderless cable, 70 right angle plugs, and it's powered by the Gig Rig generator with 4 distributors.

Here's a video showing the pedal chain, board functions, and power wiring:

Here's another video that goes through a quick demo of some of the sounds:

neat.

curious -

are you connected to BradyCases in any way (not trying to be a douche, just that looks like you just joined and if you work for/are endorsed by a company you're s'posed to put that in your sig or tag line under your name)?

how much did that run you?

did you have him do the wiring or did you do the layout yourself?

clean setup.

Hey behndy,
not douchey at all man. I am not affiliated with bradycases or any other company. A friend of mine went to college with Brady which is how I found out about his boards.
I'm just a regular guy with a day job who loves playing bass and collecting gear. I started the bass blog to help train bass players at church that wanted to learn more about using pedals.
The board came completely empty. I had to do all of the instrument cable cutting, drilling the holes, and all of the Gig Rig power wiring underneath. It took forever.

lol. yeah, it's even MORE arduous when you solder out your cables. i had a board with an intelligent 8 bypass looper for awhile, was loads of fun, but DAMN that was a lot of cables.

looking good up thar.

Thanks G3Mitch! We went through a year at church where we didn't have good keys players (or any at all) so we needed a good organ sound, or some "pad" sounds to start songs or do transitions. I messed around with the delays I had and bought that microPOG and it works pretty well for some fake keys.

Hey Newbold - do you mean, did I make it so big that I can't lift it or it's a pain to take to gigs? or did you mean is it hard to reach the pedals while playing?

The board is 32x18 (add another 4 inches for the outside), but its made of polypropylene so its lighter than wood, but sturdy - and the flight case lid has 2 corner casters and a 3 stage pull out handle - so I just roll the thing around like a suitcase.

It's a little heavier than my old pedaltrain, but I couldn't roll the pedaltrain - so I like this setup better. Plus, with the new power supply - you just set this bad boy down and plug in 1 power cord for the entire board and you're ready to play.

First things first... killer board!

Any chance you'd be willing to give a more substantial demo/review of the bass chi-wah-wah? AFAIK there are no good videos demonstrating this pedal clean, with different types of dirt and using a variety of playing techniques.

It would be a great service to many of the members of this board interested in hearing how this badboy sounds. Obviously there'll be no hard feelings if you don't want to/don't have the time! :P

I like the Chi-Wah-Wah and small as it is, the Jacques Trinity also has a pretty small footprint for those who need wah and have space constraints.

Über-cool board Coop! Thanks for the Chi-Wah-Wah clip.
