Then I removed all the screws holding these things down so I could glue the carpeting to the bottom box.
Two pictures of the carpet applied to the right and left sides. The left side has a black electrical outlet. I just wedged that in there to help stretch the carpeting and keep that glued together. I may actually use the black outlet cover instead of the grey one. We'll see. Let me know which you like more. |

I started from the inside floor closest to me. I just did the first two inches first, then I applied the glue to the rest of the flooring and inside back. I took this picture at this time while waiting for the glue to dry for five minutes.
The whitish area of the carpet is the part sprayed with the glue. Oh, and those are old vertical blinds I used to protect the existing carpeting from over spray with the glue. |

I hope you don't have any white furred pets, my dog sheds so much fur, its annoying when it gets on my PT mini. I can't imagine cleaning the hair of that!

Would love to see this thing all wired up and complete. A short video tutorial of all the bells and whistles would be cool too. Thanks!

You've got some kind of cover planned, right?
Looking at this made me think of my DIY board and how I should probably put some kind of bottom on it to keep all the cords from flailing about.
Maybe some plexiglass on a piano hinge for access....

I haven't done too much work to it lately, but I did cut out templates for the top/cover part of the outer box. The templates are made of styrofoam. It turns out that was a good idea since I changed the dimensions three time the night I mocked up the top cover box.
I'll take pictures this weekend of what's been done so far. Thanks for reminding me to get going on this again. The ADD was kicking in again. |

Here are two pictures of the pedal board surface closed. Notice on the front, I put a handle to help get it in and out of the car. I also put a round kitchen cabinet knob next to the white outlet (left side of the pedal board surface) so I can more easily lift the pedal board surface. The black metalic corners are on the left side; the wheels are on the right corners. I also bought a battery operated clock that has a blue back light when tapped on top of the clock. That has become my bandmates' favorite part of the project. "Hey Bob. How much time left until the next break?" It's actually been quite useful.

Reason: Add the corners comment.

I only did three of the four sides so I could figure out how the inside board would work. The inside strofoam board will be hinged so I can get access to what ever I store in the top box. I'm thinking it will be just enough for the wires for this pedal board. The bottom box (under the pedal board surface) has a lot of room for tools, the wireless transmitters and other odds and ends. |

I drew out the four side pieces Thursday night, but it was too late to start making noise with power tools. The top piece of the top cover was already cut when I cut the bottom piece for the bottom box a year and a half ago. I was hoping to cut them either today or tomorrow, but we are hosting a Super Bowl party tomorrow. Cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc... |

I've cut out the top of the top box (done almost two years ago when I cut out the bottom of the bottom box) and the four sides to the top box. It's going to be about another two inches taller than the styrofoam mock up I made in August last year. The sides have also been routed for the 45 degree angle on the front, right and left sides. The back bottom piece was not routed at a 45 degree angle so the back top piece will not either. If this is confusing, I will post pictures this weekend. Two of the sides have been attached to the top cover and two sides still need to be attached. Pictures will be taken and posted when all sides are attached.
It feels good to be working on this again. |

I have a couple of updates, but I just realized I never posted pictures of the inside of this after all the pedals were put in place. Here are two pictures of the inside, underneath the pedal board surface. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
