My Pedal Board... The only effects I'll ever need??

Sign in to disble this ad
Well... I'm still waiting for the Board bit...... But:

As a starting point I was shocked by the amount of effects that some people have on this MB.... Not meant at all as an offence!

But I looked at the Bass players that I admire and inspire me; and then looked at the effects that they used in the music that I like. Now ofcourse it hasn't been exclusively them, (to many to mention) but they are:

Sting
John Patitucci
Darryl Jones

So after all that..... This is it:

Ibanez SB7 (used 1st as a Auto Wah) -> Behringer BXL 1800A Amp (with Distortion channel) EFFXloop -> Arion Tuner ->
Arion Octave -> Arion Chorus. amazingly no tone suck to talk of on Arion stuff......

I also have Zoom B2 since I earn my living as a consultant so that I can take my Bass and Practise in my Lonely Flat or Hotel room with headphones.

This is only the beginning my friend....

First it'll be "i'm not happy with the distortion on my amp, I'll get me a nice pedal"

Then, "that dist is SWEET! I bet a phaser would sound great after it"

Then, "my autowah is cool, but I want to use the synth sounds on my SB7, and I've always wanted a foot-controlled wah"

Then, "actually, that distorion pedal still isn't good enough, I'm gonna go spend $300 on this muff clone"

and it goes on.

I am happy with my pedal setup at the mo, but I still dream about having a bigger board one day, with phase, a second synth, 2 more drive options, assignable foot-controlled blend, etc etc.

I think its step 1 of the 12 step process. Step 2 is GAS. No one ever really makes it much farther.

Err I've had a Pue 5B before too.

But that's definitely going to be my lot! I might upgrade the Octaver or even get a Boss Synth bass if I don't use my Zoom for that. But I'm Prussian and we know how to make decisions and stick to them!
