My Pedalboard

So I'm just very pleased with how my current pedalboard is setup. I've been through a ton of changes and am satisfied with most of it, but of course I have plans to add to it

So I have (in signal chain order):
Boss TU-2
Boss CE-5
Dunlop 105q
Proco Rat
Electronix SUBmarine
Tech 21 Sansamp PBDDI

all on a handy little Pedaltrain JR. I have the soft case, though might order the hard case. Oh yeah, can't forget the awesome pick-holder that I put some velcro on the back of.

I had a Boss EQ-20 on there until I got the submarine. Now it's in it's box awaiting another rig/sound situation where I'll need/want it.

I just got the submarine last week, and the Rat tonight. I traded a Metal Muff towards the Rat, and an Ibanez Weeping Demon wah towards the Submarine.

What I want to do from here:
- I may trade the sansamp PBBDI for the smaller non-programmable version - I've found I don't really use the extra channels but I could possibly use the extra real estate on my board. Anybody game?

- Get rid of the chorus and add a Maxon Af-9 envelope filter

- Add a compressor, probably a Compulator or Multicomp

- If I like the AF-9 a lot I would probably take the Dunlop off the board and put something else there (volume pedal? maybe squeeze an EHX Electric Mistress on there - if I downsized the sansamp) I dunno, we'll see.

And aside from those first three things, I think I'm covered. Eventually get another JR with a BMS, volume pedal, and a EHX Electric Mistress, maybe a fuzz, a micro POG, a delay etc. i.e. non-essential (IMO) but very cool stuff thats worth having on a second "jam board" while I take this to all of my practices and gigs.

So yeah, no clips with the whole package, but maybe I'll get some up.
I really love how the Sub adds so much low end that the Rat looses - no complaints here. It's a slightly different tone than the clean signal (no sub or rat) but I'm still tweaking it.

I love it!

sounds good man, I love hearing how people have found the pedals that they love, and stick with them :-p Ive been following your posts about the sub and really really want to pick one up, but not until I make some more more dough. I am also trying to sell my OCD pedal, because I am covered with my bassdrive, and the proceeds of the OCD are going to buy a nice Tone Factor Bottom Feeder (442 bass version)

Other than that, I am set with my board.

Awesome! Sounds like fun messing with those OD/Distortions.

Yeah, I'd pick up a sub if possible - it doesnt make you go "wow" IME but its definitely a "whoa - that sounds alot better than it did!" kind of thing. Especially after distortion. It's a common complaint that the Rat(s) lose bottom. I agree, but the sub takes care of it.

yes I agree about the sub as not being such a wow factor as it is just plain good. I dont necessarily need one for bottom end because I have an mxr 10 band eq for that. but I eventually want to put together a "little" board with only a tuner, sub, and DI on it. That or get one for my normal board and use it with the tone rolled off for dub tone on bridges of slow song where I just want pure bass

mmmmm. So exactly how bright is the LED? yours is yellow right? I believe jetpacks was green. I wonder if he can do different colors....I like blue, besides blue sounds the best :-p

Very neat and tidy pedalboard.. IMHO All the essentials except a decent compresor. If it was mine, I would have put a modded dynacomp or similiar somewhere on the path.

There is a pool contains 10000+ LEDs with approximately this percentage of colors:

Red - 45%
Green - 45%
magenta - 3%
blue - 3%
white - 2%
Lime Green - 1% (Jet's Sub actually has lime green, not the regular one)
Other colors (orange, yellow etc) - less than 1%

I can put a blue one, however I might need to dig for a while

I like it to be a surprise though, when I am powering up the unit.

It's brighter than standard boss LED's, not as bright as my DC brick.
I used to have that Boss 10-band EQ but I favor this over that - less size, simpler controls, cool factor

wow, so I guess I'm special that I got a yellow/lime green one! I like it lol. I don't know if I would've chosen any other color...

And yeah, a decent compressor is my next purchase. Especially after recording a demo EP for my band and not having one - I realize how important a compressor is.

How do you like the dunlop?

Here's a question I've been thinking of for a while.
Buy the CEB-3 or the CE-5?

The JR is great - I have everything I need in a small easy to carry package.

I like the dunlop, better than the Ibanez weeping demon (although that is a great wah too, just not my style). I want to try a few more - I had a morley a while back but I cant remember why i got rid of it lol.

The CE-5 is plenty of chorus for me, but I dont go crazy with chorus, I just use it to fill out the sound when I play in the higher registers. I've never had a chance to play the CEB-3, although I hear it is great.
