My POG is really crappy...

I discovered that one of my dogs disapproved of my use of a POG this morning. Story below is cut and pasted from my "for sale" thread in the Effects For Sale forum as I am too lazy to retype it all.

EHX POG for FREE!!!

Luckily only one pedal got the brunt of the... attention. My EHX POG. The others escaped soiling. My oh my the POG got some attention though. Needs to have those faders cleaned, badly. I'd clean up the circuit board too. Hasn't been plugged in or turned on since the incident, so no worries about something being fried. I went through and cleaned off the outside and a little of the innards, but it will need more work that I am not willing to do at this point. Quite frankly at this point, for me, it isn't worth the effort to salvage a pedal I only use on stage once every few months. So....

If you are willing to cover shipping from central Oklahoma (including all packing costs), I'll ship this crappy sumbitch to you. For this one I could care less about international shipping issues, so overseas come and get it. It's declared value will be zero as that is what I value it at in this condition. I have the original box, but the power supply is god-knows-where in the house. I'm not going hunt for it extensively. If I find it out in the open, I'll ship it to you. Otherwise you'll need to source your own 18 volt power supply.

A pedal I paid almost $300 for down the drain. Anyone know any good recipes for dog. I have a couple I am thinking about butchering.

Mods, I am not trying to double post or pump up my own thread for moving this pedal. Hell, I have it listed for free. I'm taking a massive hit here. I just thought the story was amusing and warranted a post in the effects forum. If this violates some TB rule, accept my apologies.

Yeah. I considered taking him up on his offer for about 90 seconds before the ol' logic circuits kicked in.

I know I went swimming two years ago with my cell phone in my pocket. I took it apart, put it under a desk lamp overnight, and it still works. Putting soaked electronics in a bag of dry rice will supposedly allow them to work again.

So..... take the pedal apart, wash the hell out of it with hot water and dry it out under a lamp or in a bag of rice. Put it back together and maybe it will work. If it doesn't, it was a ****** pedal anyways.....

I'm soon to find out (says the person who got it from him.)

I think I'm just gonna dump isopropyl alcohol on it until it's visually clean and then scrub it up with q-tips, blow it out with canned air and let it dry.

My music room is off limits to any 4 legged creatures, unless I'm in there. The door gets shut tight before bed, every night. Only way to 100% prevent these types of "accidents", though in this case, sounds like your dog just didn't care for a digital octave effect on bass.

Yes. Yes I will. I am not sure which of the two did it however. So you'll need to accept the two together as a matched set. One's a mixed breed female, half pitbull half whatever jumped the fence, approx 50 lbs. The other is a male Norwegian Elkhound (looks more like a wolf to me), approx 100 lbs. Shipping may be expensive.

I've got cats, but the same rules apply. They tend to get a bit pukie but it's more "solid"... for lack of a better term. My problems are that a) they both shed a great deal and I end up needing to remove all the pedals and vacuum off the 3-M Dual Lok connectors I've lined my Pedaltrain with (I can't imagine how much worse it would be it I used fabric-based Velcro as opposed to the plastiformed Dual-Lok ) and b) the more graceful one like to sneak into the closet and climb up my gigbags and Mike Lull-branded ProTec softcases as well and knocking boxes of the shelf, and if denied acces to claw at the front of the door and ripping up the carpeting. I'm hoping I can disguise that and not have it taken out of our Security Deposit...

throw it in a bucket of mineral spirits for a while, swish it around, should come out clean (at least not that bad). Mineral spirits will not effect the circuits at all. I have a wondeful machine called an ultrasonic cleaner that would clean it quick. (it works on tattoo equipment, and it doesn't get much more gory than that stuff)

Any update? Did you ever get the pooped-upon pog working?
