My Polish Love keeps fading out on me...

I have no idea what could be causig this. My Polish Love OD pedal seems to be losing it's juice. There's no dirt left in the normal mode, though crazy mode still works.
Problem is this isn't the first time this happened. I lent it to a responsible friend for a couple days and when it came back, same thing. I replaced the chip (4049) with another of the same I happened to have in stock, fixed it right up.
Now a few weeks later, back to the same place. I don't want to keep wasting chips.
It's generally used in a VFB-2 for clean blend and sometimes feedback loop for fun. I use it for guitar and bass.

I don't understand what could be happening. I'm using the same power supply I've been using for years and with all my pedals, a godlyke power-all.

Anyone else ever have this problem???

Generally in troubleshooting if something isn't quite working right I'll see if it's drawing too much current. I'm not sure what kind of current it needs, but I'm guessing it couldn't be more than 10mA (maybe Bogdan(?) knows). If you're drawing a good deal more current than normal then you may have developed a short somewhere in the circuit (could also be a cold solder or a loose wire).

A few months ago, mine seemed to have given up also. I contacted Bogdan (bogus411@wp.pl) who told me to sent it to him, which I promptly did. He e-mailed me back after it arrived and said that it worked perfectly for him and did I have it plugged in properly (I did...)? He sent it back to me (after adding a new 'in' sticker - the previous owner had removed the old one; Bogdan paid for the return shipping, BTW) and since then its been just fine. Neither of us have any idea what it was, but sending halfway around the globe (twice) seemed to have solved it.

Contact Bogdan...he'll take care of you, is what all this is about.

those 4049ubes pull alot of current if he hasn't put in a current limiting resistor it could be working your power supply very hard.

Interesting. I have a standard MM, anyone know what the easiest way of measuring the current draw of the pedal is?
