My signal is totally breaking up.

I know it looks a mess at the moment but I'm trying to get good placement of pedals on my board. After careful consideration, what I thought was careful consideration anyway, this is the order I came up with. It's not all tucked away and cleaned up yet but I plugged in and started playing and my signal is totally breaking up like crazy. This is the absolute first time this has happened. I'm running all the pedals on different single daisy chain is the only difference. I'm thinking maybe that's the problem. The board has its own chain above the board. But this is the order I thought would sound best but it sounds terrible actually. Any suggestions??

Put your sansamp last! Amp. Sansamp. Pedals. Bass

Here's what I would do with that:

POG>Wah*>OCD>Fuzz>Wah*>Sansamp**>Chorus>Delay>Chor us>Sansamp**

Or you could look for excessive noise or volume coming from your pedals overloading the next in the chain (I'm looking at you, sansamp).

sansamp, if that's your DI, or else after the envelope for a different flavour.

Thanks guys, I played around with last night and that's almost what I ended up with. I'll still go home and play with it some more. After rearranging them again and actually using the power strip in the board, it stopped breaking up. But, I'm getting some distortion on certain notes and I think it is due to the pog. Or the mxr flanger/chorus. I don't get why the flanger would do that though. It's frustrating! Your suggestions make total sense.

I change my order it seems at least once a week check your knobs to make sure you didn't move some pedal settings by accident.

i once got something similar to what you're describing when i was trying to draw too much power from my daisy chained power supply, distortion on some notes and some awful breakup, only happened when i had one extra pedal so i thought that pedal was broken

just turned out i needed a power supply with more juice.

I actually do think it was the daisy chain I was using. I was using one of those spot 9 chains or whatever they're called. When I set em back up using the boards power supply it stopped breaking up. I know exactly what you mean mjac! I've changed my order about 10 since last week when I got the board and probably will change it a few more times in the future. One thing that's still an issue is I'm getting some distortion when I have the flanger going. I'm not sure if the signal is giving too much in the chain or what but its frustrating. The pog will do it a little too but I think that's just from when it has the sub octave really high. I'll keep referring back to this thread when I play around with the placement due to all your suggestions so thank you to all. It's great to have the wealth of knowledge at my fingertips here.
