I would suggest a Source Audio Multiwave Bass Distortion Pro for a tone like that.

It's got a interesting 'splatty' sound to it, I wouldn't think it was a core line fuzz IE: muff clone, superfuzz clone, etc..

Maybe something like a bigsound smallsound team awesome fuzz machine?

Cool.

Just saw this thread. I immediately thought Prunes & Custard when I heard it.

It's always interesting to me to hear how differently other people use pedals that I own but the P&C is so distinct. Less so now that the Source Multiwave can cop somewhat similar sounds I suppose.

Wilco's "Hell is Chrome" is still my favorite song with the Prunes & Custard.
