Name and rank the top FIVE required bass pedals

You can have any 5 bass pedals in your pedalboard.

What are they (brand and type)?
And can you rank them #1-5 in order of importance?

I have no pedals and I like it that way. The cleaner and least degraded in quality because of tone-sucking boxes the better.

In answer to the OP's question...Hard choice, but if I had to choose five to keep I'd have, in no certain order:

ToneFactor Cream Pie
Bogdan Polish Love
Moody Sounds Hjärt Müller Bass Drive
and.....

Damn. I can't do it.

I'll play...

1) Peterson Strobostomp
2) Musicelectronix Submarine
3) Analogman Bicomp
4) Boss OC-2
5) Line6 MM-4 (a bit of a cheat to get multiple modulation effects)

My board's only five pedals, so I get all of them...

1) Planet Waves Tuner
2) Clean Boost (from Jack Orman's design)
3) ZVex Wooley Mammoth
4) BJFE Blueberry OD
5) BJFE Pine Green Compressor

Runner up is my DOD FX25 envelope filter.

No. It's an illogical, lazy, and self-defeating question.

Right now I've got
Dirt
Envolope
Pitch shift/delay
Tuner

If I had to pick one more, I guess more modulation or a fuzz pedal.

Ummmm.... I think I only have one bass pedal right now. The rest are pretty much designed for anything you can throw it. So I guess then:

Bass Metaphors

1) Tuner
2) Compressor
3) EQ or any tone shaper pedal for more voicing options, which may include drive.

that's about all I can think of... the rest not so essential, add to taste...

I'm kinda on and off with pedals. I like them but I get too lazy to hook them up with all the other stuff I have to setup (drum machine, PA etc.) I guess if I were to list my 2 favorite pedals, I'd have to say my 1) programable BDDI and my Boss chorus pedal. I never use any other pedals

+1 to both.

Right now I use a Hematoma and Attack Goat. Both are touted as "bass specific", as is the GeminiDrive im sorta GASing for, but I just put that down to coincidence/marketing as im sure that they could sound good with whatever signal you might want to put thru them:
  • Farting Llama
  • The Pope
  • Ground Beef
  • McDonalds Fries
  • Battery Powered Radio
  • Etc...
