NAMM 2013: Eventide H9

Looks like NAMM 2013 is set to be a great one!

Just got a newsletter from Eventide announcing this little beauty which looks to be exactly what I've been hoping for:

Time for some serious G.A.S. until March........ :p

If I can load in my exact presets/algorithms from the pitchfactor (diatonic, quadravox, harpeggiator), the timefactor's digital delay and a couple of space patches - I'm game. I do want to see/hear it in action though.

I just need a couple of the Pitch and Timefactor algorithms and was on the fence about the Space pedal. Plus only use one at a time so this could be ideal! :)

SO SICK!! Might pick one up for the mini board.

wow....just wow! aaaarrrggggfffhhh!

That looks great. In app purchases get a little eyebrow raise from me, hopefully the prices are reasonable for them.

It will be interesting to see if this will do more than one effect at a time. The concept is really slick though. I'm definitely going to check it out this weekend.

Am 99% sure it will only be one effect patch at a time, the same as all the 'Factor' pedals and even the Eclipse was until their V.4 software update. However a lot of their patches are combinations of more than one effect already e.g. Delay/Chorus, pitch shift/reverb etc.

So...it doesn't have the whammy/pitch shifting stuff from the pitchfactor? Just the three modes that I never really touched....

Grrrrr.....

HMMMM!!!!

I should read mo' betta'.

That's friggin awesome. A heck of a lot better sized than any eventide unit too. I assume it has an exp pedal jack...

fasto 01-24-2013 05:48 AM

subīd!

This NAMM 2013 really kicks ass ... thx for posting.

Andy Will 01-24-2013 06:08 AM

No problem! Could only see 2 options when I received the mail from Eventide:
1) Post on Talkbass to share the most painful GAS-attack in months or.....
2) Bore my poor girlfriend to death going on about my excitement over a pedal!

Naturally went for option 1, after an hour of option 2........ ;)

Sound Chaser 01-24-2013 12:13 PM

I hope they price it reasonably, considering they're expecting us to pay for more algorithms. This is really just perfect for me.

Oreomeister365 01-24-2013 01:59 PM

I'm curious how specific we'll be able to get on out app purchase. I only actually used one or two things out of the pitchfactors millions when I had it...

If you go to Premiere Guitars facebook page they are posting awesome updates about this pedal and other new stuff. Here is what they said about the H9

Eventide's H9 Harmonizer has the Space, ModFactor, PitchFactor, and TimeFactor built in, plus a new Ultra Tap Delay. It can be controlled via iPhone or iPad using Bluetooth, but everything can also be accessed through the pedal's controls. Street price around $500.

Man.. i remember back in the 70s when Eventide Clockworks Digital Delay of 1 second, in a 4 space rack unit cost $5000... You could update it to 2 seconds or so for teh cost of an arm and a leg.....
Digital has gotten to cost effective.... its nice

jwr 01-24-2013 08:23 PM

I will be getting one of these.
