Hey guys, what is a great Bass Wah?
I tried a reg. Crybaby wah for guitar, and all my bottom just dropped out, NOT GOOD!!!
Anyways, I see on;ine that there are a bunch of Bass Wahs out there. I want one that keeps the bottom and has a great sweep. Any ideas?
Thanks

You just think you do.

LOL, your right, I KNOW I don't NEED one, but my BAND says I do, lol.
I need it for a spotlight section on a tune and need it to add in some effect to 2 other tunes....

Here's a new wah pedal that I'm interested in. Spendy though. http://www.silvermachine.de/ |

| | | | the 105Q crybaby is the best one ive ever heard. you will loose some bottom end with any wah pedal, but with the 105Q its not a problem. a regular crybaby is kinda crappy for bass.
and stay away from morley. absolute trash..

| | | | I don't like auto-off wahs. It's like they don't turn off instantly...
But I love my Dunlop Bass Wah anyways. Real good wah. Just wish they made a normal version.

The tone-suck/low-end suck is minimal, to my ears (granted, I dont have the most hi-fi rig (until tomorrow when my GK cab gets here!) ) so you'll have to try it with your set-up to see for yourself.
My only problem with the morley wah I've had was the huge amount of space it took up. Sounded good, just to big and wasnt really the sound I was going for.
The Ibanez weeping demon wah is an insane wah, if you're into the rock genre and want alot of tweakablilty I'd definitely try it out. |

Kevin Wilson makes a really good wah, from what I understand, but I have not had the privilege of testing it out. And, as far as wahs are concerned, and especially considering my past experience with sight-unseen wah purchases, it's crucial to do so. Not to take anything away from Mr. Wilson, or his effects.
The Fulltone Clyde Deluxe is simply AMAZING on bass. Read my study, soon to be printed in the forthcoming issue of Journal of Human Evolution, entitled "Who Names Their Kids Clyde Anymore? An Initial Look at the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah," and hopefully you'll get an impression of what I think of that particular pedal.

| | Working Class Hero | | | | | I've played many over the years, and IMO the RMC-1 that Geoff built for me (unity gain mod) sounds and plays best.
Teese rules when it comes to wah pedals... for any instrument.
Good luck with your search. |

And i think it sounds better for me than the morley wah's, but thats personal preference.
