i use MXR CAE MC-401, Xotic Ep Boost & Lizard Legs Flying Dragon. love them all.
if yer on a budget the EHX LPB-1 gets a lot of praise for <$50.
i havent used the Boosta Grande but have 2 other BBE units & they work great.

a friend of mine makes a line of pedals. they are all really high quality true bypass pedals. cjeck out his ub2 or maxx moss booster pedals. they go from squeaky clean boost and if you want, dial in a bit of o.d.

That's the one I use. Works exactly as a clean boost should.

MXR Micro Amp is supposed to be a nice clean boost. Relatively inexpensive too.

I have the MXR CAE MC-401. Nice boost pedal with a tight and clear sound. You can run it 18 V for a bit more headroom.

Boota Grande loses to much high and low end for me, I replaced mine with a Lizard Legs Blue Tail which works GREAT.

Ya know what's a really good clean boost? Comp-cut mode on a fulltone bassdrive.

Pretty much ANY clean boost will APPEAR to lower both the low and high end, as increasing gain will always cause a mid-hump. You might consider using an EQ for boost if you can't live with the middiness of a boost.

The VooDoo Sparkle Drive is an affordable high quality boost. And you can get OD out it with the twist of a knob.

And the advice to use an EQ such as the Ibanez BE10 is solid.

Either of these options are readily available for less that a 100 bucks on the used pedal market.

And if you don't like one sell it and try another. Or become a pedal addict. Nothing like taking care of a good Tone Jones.
