Need a decent Expression Pedal!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey All, I've had a quick glance through the forums to see if I could find some information on this topic but couldn't really find anything - perhaps it's because I don't really know what I'm looking for... but anyway.

I need to get an expression pedal that controls all in one box the following: Volume, Wah, Resonance.

Similar to the expression bolted onto the BOSS ME-50B.

Any suggestions ?

What are you connecting it to? I've had good luck with the Line 6 on the M13 and some Zoom stuff. I've tried it with some keyboards as well.

It'll go on my effects Board for my bass rig -

Well...'expression pedals' are generally unique to their own effect...like how the DL4 or M9/14 have an 'expression' input so you can hook up extra control.

If you want an effect that is expression/controlled that will do wah and volume (what do you mean by resonance?) then chances are the Digitech Expression Factory is something to check out.

An expression pedal is usually just like a big knob in gas pedal form.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't think anyone make an expression pedal you can plug a stringed instrument directly into...save maybe a Whammy pedal? Expression devices are typically "dumb" controllers for other "intelligent" effecting devices, like pedals, synths, etc.

ah, ok sorry - if I misunderstood or was not too clear... Basically, I have a Boss ME 50B Multi Effects Unit, and the expression offers a WAH, Resonance, Volume (plus some offer features like octave/pitch, note hold). I'm just wondering if there was a stand alone pedal that would offer these features rather me having to attach the ME 50B to my effects chain just to use the wah, etc. I understand about the expression pedal being a controller for an effect but I suppose what I am after is an integrated pedal that plugs into the signal chain...

Perhaps I'll just need to get a pedal that will allow an expression to be plugged into it..!

Ah, gotcha! In that case, I haven't seen one...but it would be a cool thing for somebody to build!

The one on your multi-fx controls different parameters based on the patch that's being used. Outside of multi-fx, an expression pedal is as described above, a big knob in the form of a gas pedal. Completely different animal from a volume or wah.
