Lookin to add a little snarl to my LH 1000.

Here's the deal; I play fingerstyle, in a hardrock band.

Was thinkin about a graphic eq, but thinkin sansamp now.

Leaning towards the RPM...... can you run these at +4db??? Im going to put it in my FX loop. Also, is there a bypass/footswitch available for this??

Thanks Guys

You might be able to overdrive the preamp tube with a simple (and cheaper than the RPM) boost pedal.

The RPM is foot switchable. I'm not sure what you mean by running it a +4db. I would think that the RPM has some extra headroom in the volume department, if that's what you mean.

well I mean running the pre amp at +4 db line, instead of -10.

Thats cool the RPM is footswitchable, but I have a feeling that most of the time its run before the amp, on a instrument level line (-10db)

Anyone else??

Also, Im using a rackmount wireless....and not a fan of pedal boards

Do you like the sound of your head with the input gain cranked, or are you looking for a different style of drive? If you like your basic tone, but want more grit than just the gain knob can give you, Warwick.Hoy is right, a boost pedal like the EHX LPB-1 would be a simple and cheap option. If you don't want a pedal, you can always velcro it down in your rack. If you're looking for a totally different sound, then a rackmount preamp isn't a bad way to go. There are some other good pres out there besides the SansAmp. The Aguilar AGRO has gotten pretty good reviews, and should be the same ballpark as the RPM pricewise.
