Need Gift Ideas

Sign in to disble this ad
A friend's birthday is coming up in a couple months and I want to get him something. I'm asking hear because he is a pedalist

I'm thinking something like Interconnects or More interconnects because his board seems a little out of control with cables and spread out too much as a result. As musicians who use and enjoy pedals and all they have to offer would a gift like this be prudent? And which would you prefer? The brass is obviously more solid but the angled ones seem like they could fit two pedals closer together even with the cable.

Are there other things that heavy users of pedals need besides pedals themselves? Maybe a buffer?

A pedal seems like a pretty individualized thing so I don't want to just run out and grab him a random one, even a boutique, because I don't know what he really looks for or needs in terms of that kind of thing.

Thanks guys and girls!

I've had the brass things, and had no problems personally.
However,
Many here have had bad experiences with those brass connectors wreaking input or output jacks by flexing the adjacent pedal jack when you step on the other pedal (If you see what I mean).
This is due to the lack of flexibility on the brass interconnects transferring the pressure to the pedal sockets.
This isn't as much of a problem if the in/out jacks are all matched in position though.

I've moved to making my own cables, and have used those Hosa cables without issue, but again some people don't like the "Pancake" plugs but I think they are fine on a pedalboard.
