Need help ASAP with Boss Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey there, I recently bought a used Boss CEB-3 Bass chorus pedal and it works great.. With a battery. For some reason, when I try powering with my BCB-60 Boss pedal board, it doesn't get any power through the DC. So I tried using a 1-Spot DC adapter straight to it, nothing. Then I tried a line 6 DC adapter. Still, absolutely nothing. It works with a battery, but not the adapter. Anything you think might be causing this?

All help is appreciated greatly.

in order to get the circuit board out you have to undo the pots, pop the knobs off and unscrew the nut, as well as the nuts that hold the input/output jacks on. BE SURE to remember which jack is which, and which pot is which. I'd label somehow, with tape maybe.

Not to bash.

It is a boss. Most likely a wire is loos. As stated above. Google "wiring schematic for boss bass chorus." Ill bet you will find one that can help you. If you pluged in to a one spot first i could have blown it. Ive had this happen to a very expensive pedal with the one spot. During a gig i had a problem with my voodoo labs pedal power and pluged into a one spot. Then death to pedal. Not sure if was the one spot but you can never be to carefull.

If the one spot did anything to it, would it still work with a battery or no.

Opened it up, didn't see any loose or disconnected wires.

Possibly a cold solder joint on one of the power supply connects. I doubt the 1-spot killed your pedal. I use mine with a CEB-3 all the time.

I don't have a solution, but perhaps an alternative...

You can find power cables that go from barrel type to 9v battery connector type. Just connect it to your normal power supply, then connect the snaps to your battery snap. You may need to file a slot into the battery compartment so that the casing doesn't sever the cable when you stomp it.
