| I own a korg "toneworks" ax3000b, but I mostly use it for it's distortion and modulation effects. sometimes I mess around with the synth sounds.I don't use it that much, but I do play around with it for fun. I do have the owner's manual for the ax3000b and perhaps I could(or at least try to) shed some light on how the synth sound functions.
the depth/pol control adjusts the envelop filter. from what I've experienced, adjusting the depth control to the left gives you a techno-like synth sound(think prodigy, crystal method, atb, etc.). adjusting the depth control to the right gives you more of an auto-wah type sound.
there is an attack control on the synth sound. according to the owner's manual, the attack control adjusts the attack of the envelope filter. I'm not quite sure how this control functions, but from what I experienced, the attack control creates an effect that holds the synth sound and release it at a certain time. it's difficult how to explain this more clearly, but that's from what I've experienced.
the wave control adjusts the synth waveform. this control allows you to choose a variety of synth sounds. you can go from a square waveform to a sawtooth waveform.
the resonance control adjusts the resonance of the envelope filter. this control is sorta similar to the resonance control on a flanger pedal, only it functions a little different. from what I know, this control gives the bass synth sort of an atmospheric sound.
the mix control basically blends your sound. it mixes the dry signal with the effected signal.
and just to let you know, you can enhance the bass synth by combining the synth sound with distortion. well, that's pretty much what I know on the synth sound on the ax3000b. don't feel too bad that you don't have any experiece with synth sounds on bass. I don't use synth sounds that much, but sometimes I mess around with it just for fun. I hope this helps you understand how the bass synth functions on the korg "toneworks" ax3000b.
