Need help! Groove Regulator vs. mxr 288

Sign in to disble this ad
I have money for one or the other. I would like to buy either a 3 Leaf Groove Regulator envelop filter or an Mx4 288 bass octave. I know they are different. Which, in your opinion, would be a more useful pedal. I have a Hematoma overdrive that would be used with it. I play in a cover band that plays rock, r&b and blues and in a blues band.

Not an answerable question, seriously. Neither one is useful if you don't have tunes that call for it. Each is only as useful as the tunes call for.

I have songs where I could use both, but can only get one now.

What would be more delicious for me tonight- a turkey sandwich or a chicken burrito?

Really- it's up to you. People use both octavers and envelope filters in rock, so there's no way to say which would be better for you without seeing your set list. You can't really ask "octave vs. filter" and expect any kind of an answer otherwise.

i use my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe more often than my Groove Regulator. i have them both. i use the BOD most times for R N B and Disco Music. some funk too. the GR is like an icing on the cake for me. for some quick solo or fill ins. its very funky!

They are both great choices. Just pick one and plan to save for the other. I just received my Groove Regulator today and its freakin sweet!

I rarely use my octaver (POG) without using my filter, however, I use my filter without my octaver on a fairly regular basis.

That said, your question is silly.
