Need help from the tech 21 gurus please

Hi guys
I just vt bass character pedal and have been goofing around with it. The problem I'm having with it is what I think is excessive hissing. I have a Muff and it makes no hiss at all. It seems as if the level is super super sensitive and I've got it really low. I know it's probably something easy. thanks.

The knobs are very sensitive on this pedal. Go easy on the boosts.

I don't think I've owned a Tech 21 pedal that didn't have an extreme amount of hiss.

really? i get zero hiss with my vt unless i have the drive cranked. what is your equipment, and what are your vt settings? pretty much all distortion pedals will put out a little hiss with the distortion up.

same problem here. start around 9 and work your way CW until you find what you like. drive and char knobs are pretty sensitive and add a bit of noise into your signal chain if you're not careful.

I don't know how much of said hiss you could hear playing through tweeter-less guitar cabs though...
