Need help with volume, any ideas?

I have an Ampeg SVT3-Pro working with a SWR Henry the 8x8. I just need a little more volume. I have an MXR di+ pedal that I use for a little more oomph, but I really want to keep my tone. Should I invest in a higher end pre-amp/DI like a SansAmp, or something else?

I know other people have had problems with the Ampeg SVT3-Pro not pumping enough sound, but what is the best way to attack this?

Thanks!

Aside from cranking the 3Pro's gain and eq, if that doesn't get it, it's another bigger spkr cab you need, NOT an fx pedal.

Have you tried running the MXR into your FX loop? Like: bass>input of MXR>output of MXR to FX return on amp.

This is what I do with my RBI/Markbass rig.

As I see it, you have three options.

1 - Get a more powerful amp.

2 - Get more speakers.

3 - EQ your amp with more mids and less bass.

Adding a pedal will do nothing to actually solve your problem.
