First, I would like to say that I am not endorsed nor I am working for the company. I bought this unit in full price, so this is purely a writing from a true fan, written to contribute to fellow bass players here at our lovely TalkBass forum
Specular Reverb is a DSP-based reverb, which means it's digital. The standard reverb mode is quite good for the price point. The winning pitch is the added 3-mode Atmosphere feature, which gives you Shimmer, 5th Voice, and Tremble (tremolo) mode. It also has stereo input & output. There's an internal switch that will allow you to split between dry and wet signal to each output, so you can experiment by using 2 amps and let the reverb blends in the air. One feature that pleases me personally is the spillover effect, so you can still hear the reverb tail lingering after you switch it off.
